NYC Writers take to the streets
Goodbye “Grey’s Anatomy,” say so long to “Friday Night Lights”. Welcome “The View: Primetime” and say hello to “The Biggest Loser: The Three Hour Edition.”
TV networks are preparing to broadcast reruns tonight, after Hollywood TV writers put down their pens and took up picket signs. Yes, its that age old american tradition: Strike!
The writers SAY they're striking because they want a piece of the action when the shows they write are distributed via cell phones/the internet, which doesn't seem so unreasonable I guess. But why do writer's have to be so dramatic? They took to the streets and striked by CUTTING OFF TRAFFIC in downtown LA! You think this is going to get people on your side? I mean come on!
And just when you thought things were getting crazy - a writer gets hit by a car... Maybe you shouldn't be standing out in the middle of the road!

Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas brought to life in new Denzel Movie
It's your typical american dream story: an uneducated kid from North Carolina gets trained under the famous Harlem mobster Bumpy Johnson, and becames one of NYC's most feared crime lords.
It's also the topic of Denzel Washington's new movie: American Gangster
This movie just re-enforces the nyc stereotype of the only way a black man can reach the top is by becoming a hardened criminal. I can't help but feel 90% of the people who go see this film will have their pants hung around there knees, puffy jackets over their patterned sweatshirts that have pictures of dead rappers, and baseball hats still with their tag from the store on them. I mean come on!
Oh yah, Russel Crowe also makes an appearnce in the film. I hate that guy! I don't know why, but something just pisses me off about him. He's the type of guy who the first time you meet him would have no problem saying something really jackassy, like "you know your really short" or something.
Rant over.

NYC Taxi Drivers say they are going to strike
Monday, October 22nd, starting at 5:00am EST NYC taxi drivers plan on striking because of new GPS tracking systems being installed in their cars.
The Taxi Workers Alliance is also concerned about future use of the GPS tracking system to invade the privacy of taxi drivers. Ms. Desai said, “The city is more invested in the technology than they are in the hard working men and women who make this industry run.”
I don't really understand why the Taxi drivers have an expectation of privacy, considering they don't own their taxi and are technically working when driving it - that's like saying my boss can't ask me what I have been working on because its an invasion of my privacy!
Oh well!
